Whiskey At The Rose is making quite a stir among Bourbon aficionados with a new entryway and a vast array of high-end Bourbons. This small Southern Speakeasy feels like a private club. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy 8 seats around the bar and a few high-top tables.
It's a perfect place to slowly sip the amber liquid that is sought after by lovers of the best Bourbons. And the best is what you will find here, with brands like Michters, Garrison Brothers Cowboy, Whistle Pig Boss Hog, Willett, Redbreast 27-year-old Irish, Kentucky Owl, Hibiki Japanese Whiskey, Henry McKenna 10.
You'll even find rare Oceans bourbons here. For those less familiar with Bourbon, this is Bourbon that travels aboard ships and visits ports all around the globe. The motion of the ship as it passes along the sea churns the whiskey, increasing its interaction with the wooden barrel while experiencing temperature changes from extreme hot to extreme cold hyper ages the Bourbon, giving a taste you have to experience.
As always here at the Rose, quality ingredients are key. With only two or three ingredients in Bourbon drinks, this is especially important. Filthy brand cherries and a wide range of various bitters (Mexican, orange, cocoa) are stocked, and specialty glasses and ice are always used in Mixologist Tom's hand-crafted mixed drinks.
Rose Villa Chef Sylvia has also gotten in on the action, creating her own food recipes and offering small plate appetizers designed around whiskey and Bourbon. Chef Sylvia is holding spirit and food tasting events that feature flights of Bourbon, and other spirits served in concert with dishes prepared with those same spirits. These events have limited seating, so be sure to keep watch and make your reservation as soon as each one is announced.
